This book was a 4- for me. There was very little BDSM in it. I am not a big fan of the Bratty sub and Everly had that in spades. Ambrose was nothing like he was in book 1. That could be due to the fact he was a main character in book 2 as opposed to a supporting one in the first book. I hated the way Everly acted toward "rich" people. Ambrose work HARD for his wealth. He was not some Trust Fund kid.He was (IMO) a very weak Dom/Master. He allowed Everly to control 99% of the situations and top from the bottom. I frankly found Everly's bratty behavior annoying as all get out!!! Mid way through the book I actually considered abandoning it and just cutting my $2.99 loss. It did pick up near the 80% point to earn it a Low 4 Star rating. (Before that point I was leaning toward a 3 Star rating). I hope Kon's book is better. If not, I will not continue with this series should there be a forth book. ~ JULE K. ~

I fell in love with Sparrow Beckett with #1. It's a shame that #3 will probably be the end of the series, as there are 3 male dom friends about whom they write. When you put the book down and still think about the characters, then to my mind, you have some good writing. The plot here is a little trite, poor girl , rich Dom who wants to be wanted for himself not his money. But! it's still a good read.
I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't quite sure because the main character is a brat and I don't really care for them, but I liked Everly because she was very honest about it up front and she had a lot of humor. Ambrose I already liked from the previous book and they worked really well together. there was great chemistry.
It reminded me a bit of Pride & Prejudice, although pride wasn't Ambrose weakness.
Writing was decent, style was enjoyable, story was easy to follow. I liked the characters well enough, but every once in awhile H was sorta un-Dom-esk. Sex scenes weren't bad. Altogether it was an okay read. I found the drama regarding rich/poor to be on the superficial side and not particularly believable or necessary. However, without it I guess there would be no real point to the story.
I would have given 3.5 stars if it was possible, but I rounded up because I felt it was better than okay (my normal 3 star rating), but I wasn't blown away by any aspect of the story. Worth reading, but won't make my "favorite" collection
I didn't want it to end. Ambrose and Everly worked so well together, you wanted to smack them up beside the head when things fell apart.
She's a brat, he's a master and yet the relationship they forge is so special it's a joy to read about as it unfolds. They compliment one another so well, you are rooting for the two of them to find a way to work out their differences. By the end of the book I was cheering. There's not a woman alive who wouldn't love the romantic proposal she received. I just pre-ordered To Have and To Master the final story in the trilogy. Can not believe I have to wait until January to read Konstantin's story. Thank you ladies. I love your stories.
I love the writing of Sparrow Beckett! The real life struggles, the real life emotions and the real life situations tell a story that absolutely grabs you from the beginning and keeps hold of you until the very end.
Everly is a brat, without a doubt a brat but she wants and longs for a Master who is strong enough to handle her and to help her submit but also allows her to do it in her way.
Ambrose is a Dom with a sense of humor. He chuckles at some of her brattiness but also is able to give her exactly what she needs.
I love this story and need the third installment like yesterday!
Everly is a bit of a submissive brat, serenely so, and unrepentantly independent and committed to helping others in need. Ambrose, recovering from a broken heart when his ex-fiancé abruptly left him, finds Everly endearing, enticing, and completely perfect. The impasse comes from her background that causes her great antipathy toward rich people. And so, Ambrose lies by omission and doesn't tell her he is the wealthy owner of an international shipping business. Could this mean the end to their very promising relationship?
i did not do this in exchange for an ARC. i read the first book and then ordered the next two. This one is better than the first. A rich dom meets a strong woman who wants to be dominated but has a sassy nature. Sounds like real life, except for the rich part.The romance and the sex are very hot.
There is a breakup in the story but really the book is so good that the plot line could do without it. i love this book. i got some good ideas to use.
